Trust Beyond Understanding: When God Calls You to Go

A man standing on the edge of a grassy cliff looking out into a partly cloudy and sunny sky

Have you ever felt like God was calling you to something new, something unknown, something outside your comfort zone? In Genesis 12, we see Abraham faced with a similar challenge: God tells him to go, without a clear destination in sight. And Abraham, despite his uncertainties, chooses to trust and obey. This story of faith and obedience challenges us to consider where God might be calling us to step out in faith, to trust beyond our understanding.

Just as Abraham had to leave behind the familiar and embrace the unknown, we too may be called to let go of comfort, control, or security in order to follow God’s leading. It’s a journey of faith, of trusting in the One who says, “Lech Lecha — go forth.” So where is God inviting you to trust Him beyond understanding today?

Let’s take a moment to reflect on our own “Nevertheless” prayers and commit to trusting God even when we don’t have all the answers. Let’s step out in faith, knowing that God is faithful to guide us along the way. Say it with me: “Nevertheless... I will trust! NEVERTHELESS... We will trust!!”

Are you ready to embrace the call to go forward, to trust beyond your understanding? Let’s take that step together this week and walk in faith, knowing that God is with us every step of the way. Let’s go forth, Church, in trust and obedience.

Amen.
