As we celebrate Mother’s Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the incredible gift of motherhood. Mothers, with their boundless love and tireless sacrifices, mirror the heart of God in ways that are truly awe-inspiring. At Rapha Church Sandy Springs, we recognize that motherhood is one of the most powerful reflections of Christ’s love. Today, I want to share some insights from our sermon that highlight the essence of sacrificial giving through the acronym M.O.T.H.E.R.

M - Ministry through Sacrifice (Matthew 20:28)
Mothers serve without seeking recognition, embodying a ministry of love just like Jesus. Their
sacrifices often go unnoticed, yet they continue to pour into their families. How can you serve
others with that same selfless love today?
O - Sowing and Reaping (Obadiah 1:15)
What we do for others comes back to us. Mothers give generously without expecting a return,
trusting that their love and effort will bear fruit in due time. In what ways have you experienced
this principle of reciprocity in your life?
T - Teaching by Example (Titus 2:3-5)
Mothers influence the next generation through their actions, teaching love and faith in everyday
moments. How are you setting an example for those around you through your own sacrificial
love?
H - Helping Others Through Generosity (Hebrews 13:16)
A giving heart pleases God. Mothers often give their last in order to provide for their families.
What do you have that you could share more generously?
E - Embodying Christ’s Love (Ephesians 5:2)
The greatest act of love is sacrifice, and mothers reflect this beautifully. Are there areas in your
life where you feel called to walk in deeper love and sacrifice like Christ?
R - Reasonable Worship through Living Sacrifice (Romans 12:1)
Motherhood is a calling of daily sacrifice, but this is a call for all believers. How can your daily
life become more of an offering to God through loving and serving?
Consider Hannah, the mother of Samuel, who exemplified sacrificial love by surrendering her
son to God. She teaches us that true sacrifice costs us something, but it is also an act of
profound trust in the Giver.
As we honor mothers today at Rapha Church Sandy Springs, let’s embrace the call to live sacrificially—reflecting the heart of God in our own lives.
What are your thoughts? How do you see sacrificial love in action in your life or the lives of
those around you? Share your reflections!
